As the ESA technology Broker for the UK, we have been presented with a number of technology offerings that have the potential for applications in the space sector.
Among these are a number of digitisation, computer hardware and computer software solutions, including a 4D geospatial digital twin platform that brings together multiple data sources to create an advanced simulation environment capable of providing dynamic, time-enabled virtual representations of geographic space.
By uniting optical, hyperspectral, RF, IR and DEM data for real-time artificial intelligence-ready visualisation, this solution could support defence, infrastructure, environmental monitoring, and robotics integration. Rendering and animating environmental and infrastructure data into 3 spatial dimensions plus time allows users to visualise both real-time and historical changes.
This solution offers a number of applications, including mission planning, asset tracking, and situational awareness. In addition, the system can be used for infrastructure management, environmental observation and analysis, disaster response testing, planning R&D, training, resource management and more.
Because this system uses real-time updates alongside predictive analytics it is able to boost operational efficiencies by around 25% while also delivering cost savings of 25-30%. Ideal for use in hazardous and remote areas, the system is able to support automation, legacy interoperability, and custom app development.
