TWI, as the ESA Technology Broker UK, is holding a webinar in conjunction with the Nuclear Industry Association (NIA) to introduce the ESA Technology Broker programme.

The online event, ‘Launchpad for Industry: Bringing Non-Space Solutions to Space,’ is taking place on Monday, 24 November, 2025, from 12:30-13:00.

TWI Business Development Executive for the Space Sector, Dr Abbasi Gandhi will introduce the ESA Technology Broker programme and explain how UK companies can access ESA support to transfer innovative terrestrial nuclear technologies into commercial and institutional space applications.

Abbasi will introduce TWI and the ESA Technology Broker network before providing further details on technology transfer pathways from industry to space and success stories and examples of technology transfer from different industry sectors. The event will also introduce the ‘Prepare for Space’ programme and explain how to engage with the UK Technology Broker team.

Abbasi leads the ESA Technology Transfer and Broker programme in the UK, supporting organisations from non-space sectors to enter and scale-up in the space economy. With over 20 years of R&D and commercial leadership across aerospace, energy, medical devices, nuclear, defence and advanced manufacturing, he has delivered high-value industrial innovation programmes, technology transfer initiatives, and strategic partnerships with global industry and government organisations.

He has authored 47 peer-reviewed papers, holds 4 patents, and has led award-winning technology programmes across Europe. At TWI, he specialises in helping companies to transition terrestrial technologies into space applications through materials, advanced manufacturing, joining technologies, and in-orbit infrastructure innovation.
